Back this week after a hiatus to deal with the funk. Let me tell you, THAT was not fun!! But makes me appreciate even more the opportunity to host "Sports Page" because this week I get to visit with a fellow Smith-Cotton High School and Central Missouri State University alum, my good friend Kathy Anderson.
Kathy is the interim vice president for intercollegiate athletics at UCM, but more than that she is a Jenny, through and through. Her No. 32 is retired after an All-America and UCM Athletics Hall of Fame career with Jennies basketball. She also was a member of the CMSU track and field and softball teams, competed for Team USA, was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame, and .... well, her bio of accomplishments would go on and on. If you want to check the whole thing out, go to ucmathletics.com! It's quite impressive.
This week, Kathy and I talk about her background at CMSU, how women's athletics have evolved since her playing days, the transfer portal, NIL, and where she sees UCM athletics headed. We had a great visit! Check it out Thursday and Saturday at 6 p.m. on ucmbeat.com, or subscribe to the UCM Sports Page podcast for Apple, Spotify and Anchor!
