I'm taking on a new venture this semester. Those who know me know I love my Mules and Jennies, and I love to talk to people and share their stories. So, after much thought and consideration, I am going to take the reins as host of "Sports Page".
For those who don't know me, I am a professor of digital media production at the University of Central Missouri and the campus advisor for our internet radio station, UCM-The Beat. I graduated from Central Missouri State University (1992 with a B.S. in Public Relations and 1994 with an M.A. in Mass Communication) and am a former Mules football player (1988-91). After nine years serving other colleges and universities, I was blessed to return home and served as athletic media relations director for UCM athletics from 2002-06. I am also the color analyst for Mules football on the UCM Sports Radio Network.
For those who like the traditional radio format, "Sports Page" will air at 6 p.m. Thursdays and Saturdays on The Beat (ucmbeat.com or download the app for Android). You can also find the podcast on some of your favorite platforms. I'm also going to be writing this blog to accompany the show and to provide a preview for each week's show. And I'll be upping our social media promotional efforts as well.
All of this is so I can build my own personal experience in producing and promoting a podcast. The goal is to learn more best practices to share with my students. Please give a listen and share your feedback throughout the semester. Hope you enjoy!
